What do you think about those fancy SEO tools like SEMrush?

They’re crucial for serious SEO research. For reporting, I’d use GA, GSC, and other analytics tools.

What analytics software do you use for reporting?

What data sources do you connect to Singular to create SEO reports?

If someone hires you to improve their website SEO, how do you plan to show that you’ve improved their rankings?

Why is Google Search Console not sufficient? There are many data points in it.

It doesn’t show keyword-specific rankings, and the average ranking metric can be confusing for clients.

It also doesn’t provide visibility into competitor rankings. Plus, you need access to GSC, so you’ll need a tool if you’re working with clients who don’t grant you access.

You mean clients don’t give you access to GSC? Why don’t they provide read-only access?

I feel the same way. Sometimes it seems like you’re paying more for the brand than for real insights. I think they’re only worth it if you’re managing many clients and need quick data.
