I’m a marketer, just like many of you here, and one thought has been on my mind: will AI tools eventually take over our jobs? It feels like every day there’s a new tool, like ChatGPT or Google SGE, that could automate what we do. How are you all getting ready to adapt and stay important in this fast-changing area?
No. ChatGPT and similar tools are just tools that might replace other tools. They won’t replace marketers because humans still need to use these tools correctly. Don’t believe the scare stories. If you’re a marketer, you should know better.
Good answer. Shaking my head at marketers who believe the scare tactics.
Many sites are blogs, so I wouldn’t say blogging will disappear.
AI is definitely changing things because more people use it to create content. I think it will become harder to rank well.
Forums like Quora and LinkedIn are getting higher in search results because they have real content from real people. Sites will need to work harder to show that their content has real interaction, which is what forums like Quora and LinkedIn have.
There was a time when new tools came out and gave us insights that used to take much longer, like keyword tools. Many were worried these tools would change our work, but they just changed how we did things. They didn’t take our jobs, thankfully.
I think AI tools will do the same. They will change some of our methods and might take over some tasks, giving us more time to adjust our strategies. But the human touch is what grabs people’s attention and drives sales. AI can’t do that as well as humans right now. People still need to implement the strategies.
The best thing to do is use these tools, get to know them, and use them to save time or resources. Keep using your skills and instincts like always. As long as you know how to use them, you can stay ahead and stay important.
Two things to keep in mind - First, don’t rely on AI and expect it to do your job for you. That could lead to job loss. Second, use platforms that show your human side, like forums and similar sites. Keep interacting and showing your personality, as that helps you and your clients. Just my thoughts.
Someone still needs to manage ChatGPT and edit the content. It still takes many hours to finish a product. I’d say it speeds up the process twice as much as a good human writer, but it needs a lot of editing and supervision. It’s not perfect yet.
Google made a big deal with this forum not long ago. Since then, traffic has gone up a lot. If you want to stay ahead, you might want to look into SEO for this forum, which is probably Google’s response to many AI-created websites. Why? Because this forum is run by real people who can remove bots or bad links. If you’re genuinely helping people, that’s different. You could also look into pay-per-call marketing with the rise of AI chatbots and automation. If you can drive traffic to call centers, you can make good money. I don’t know, just my thoughts. Also, online business communities are great for networking with like-minded people.
The AI tools you mentioned will likely help with editing and checking grammar. But there are two other possibilities:
-
AI might detect AI-created content and rank it lower.
-
Content that feels more real might rank higher because users want a genuine tone.
Remember, the AI we have now is limited and not as capable as it could be in the future.
Yes, it’s possible. With Google SGE, users get answers to their questions faster and more accurately…
SEO won’t disappear, but the experts might. Blogging will stay because people like reading expert opinions before they buy, and it’s good for building an email list.
I don’t think SEO and blogging will go away anytime soon, even with tools like Google SGE and ChatGPT. People still look for detailed, reliable information, and blogs provide that. Plus, businesses need organic traffic, which SEO helps with.
AI can summarize information, but it doesn’t replace real expertise or the stories in blogs. With blogs, creators control the message, which AI doesn’t offer. So while SEO and blogging will change, they will stay important as long as people want good, relevant content.
From a content view, some areas will be affected more than others.
For example, an AI trained on your diet can give a better option than a Google search for specific recipes that usually return a lot of general content with the recipe at the end.
I might want a red meat & dairy-free Greek dip recipe with no chickpeas, for example.
I don’t care about 2000 words of content about how your granny passed this recipe down while you watched a Greek sunset
From a services view?
I think it will let us do more and get paid for creativity instead of just work.
I don’t see AI being able to predict the future well or show empathy, which are good skills for marketing.
No one knows for sure though.
Aren’t these AI tools using others’ content? What happens when others stop making content?
Are you okay? We’re not going anywhere, we like opinions and interesting topics.
Plain facts are boring, and AI companies are scared to make things interesting because they can get in trouble.
Sure, it might get less popular like libraries did, but I don’t see anyone destroying them. Last time I was in one, there were a lot of people there.
Sure, fewer people read blogs, but you’re here on this forum and even fewer people are into that lol.
Use AI as a tool, like a car. Are cars going to replace humans? No, we drive them, how can they drive us?
No, SEO and blogging won’t go away in the future because people understand how AI affects their lives and AI can’t always meet their needs. Basically, AI shows ads at the top and real searches at the bottom, making people buy things they don’t really need.
Blogging ended the moment YouTube became popular. Informative articles aren’t blogs. What you mentioned are GPT programs and assistants. Even if the front is fully GPT models, the backend and data still come from traditional methods like crawling and indexing based on some rules. So, SEO is not dead.
