Brevo vs Sendy… Should we switch? Amazon SES or our own SMTP?

Hey everyone,

We’re a small business with about 10,000 contacts. Right now, we’re using Brevo, and it costs us $38 a month to send 20,000 emails. We’d like to send more emails without spending too much.

Should we switch to Sendy with Amazon SES? Or maybe try GMass? What do you think is the best option for us? Any advice would be super helpful!

For saving costs, Sendy with Amazon SES is a good choice. It’s affordable and works well for sending large volumes. GMass is another option but is more Gmail-focused and has some sending limits. If you’re comfortable with a bit of setup, I’d recommend Sendy + SES. Let me know if you need help getting it running.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve been using Brevo for two years with my primary business domain, but I recently bought a separate domain just for email marketing. Was that a smart move?

Also, for Amazon SES, I heard you need to request a 50k sending limit. I’ve already applied by explaining how we collect emails (website forms and events). Does this mean I need to verify my primary domain first? I also purchased Sendy and need help setting it up.

Yes, using a separate domain for marketing is a great idea—it protects your main domain’s reputation. For SES, you’ll need to verify your primary domain first and then you can add the new one. Once verified, connect your Sendy account to SES and set up the sending limits. Happy to help! Where are you getting stuck?

So I have to verify the primary domain first, right? Then I can add the marketing domain? Can I DM you for detailed help?

With GMass, we actually help you bypass sending limits. I’d be happy to chat and explain how you can use GMass for your needs. Let me know if you want to connect!

I’ve got about 12k subscribers. How long would it take to send campaigns to them? Let’s talk more—can you DM me?
