Facebook Cover - the best size?

It appears that 851 pixels wide by 315 pixels is the ideal size. It doesn’t get chopped on a desktop at this resolution, but it’s not as crisp as I would want.

Is it possible to simply increase the width and height by two or three times and then upload the updated larger, and sharper picture? Facebook will also make it smaller, but it will still fit and appear better in the end.

Or how are you using the Facebook cover photos, guys?

I utilize 360 by 851 pixels. My dimensions span both desktop and mobile viewing sizes, which are 851 pixels wide by 315 pixels tall for desktop and 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall for mobile. To avoid having your text or graphics cut off in either view, make sure they are in the middle.

As someone who has extensively researched the best Facebook cover photo size, I can confidently say that the optimal dimensions are 820 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall. This size ensures your cover photo will display perfectly across both desktop and mobile devices without any unwanted cropping or distortion. Facebook specifically recommends using a 16:9 aspect ratio image, which the 820x360 size adheres to. This allows the full width of your cover photo to be visible on desktop, while the height is optimized for mobile viewing. Additionally, keeping all important text and graphics within the 820x360 “safe zone” guarantees they won’t get cut off on any device. By using this recommended size, you can create a visually stunning and consistent Facebook cover that makes a great first impression and represents your brand or personal page effectively.
