How to Learn Social Media Marketing?

Hi everyone! I’m a 19-year-old from Norway and I’m interested in getting into social media marketing. My goal is to develop the skills to become a social media manager and eventually freelance.

I’ve been searching on YouTube and Google for courses and guides, but I haven’t found anything super helpful yet. If you know of any (free) courses, channels, or resources that could help me build my skills, I’d really appreciate it if you could share them! Any other tips or tools are welcome too.

For starters, check out HubSpot Academy. They offer free courses that cover the basics of SMM and even go into more advanced strategies.

I second HubSpot. I started there, and it helped me understand the bigger picture.

If you’re into video content, I’d recommend checking out Neil Patel’s YouTube channel. He explains things in an easy-to-understand way and covers a lot of ground when it comes to SEO and social media.

Honestly, just start experimenting with your own social media profiles. Create content, test out different strategies, and see what works. There’s no better teacher than hands-on experience…

If you’re looking for something a bit more interactive, try joining Facebook groups for digital marketers. You can learn a lot just by seeing what others are asking and the advice they get. Remember networking is key in this field.

Another one to look into is Later’s blog and YouTube channel. They focus specifically on Instagram, but the strategies can be applied across different platforms.

Try Google’s Digital Garage too, it has some pretty good free courses.

I recommend Udemy. It often has sales where you can get courses for super cheap. I picked up a SMM course for $10, and it was worth it.
