Every few months I have someone reach out to me about my google ads account to discuss my performance. Are these meetings useful in anyway? or just a way to me to get them to make me spend more money? Just curious if anyone else attends these meetings.
They’re useless. Just tell them to stop calling you.
Until you get an account violation and realize that sending random support emails gets you nowhere.
Do you usually burn bridges for no reason? You don’t have to take their advice, but they’re helpful when you need them.
I usually meet with the reps for each account I manage. Is their advice helpful? Most of the time, no, it often just drives up costs. So why do I meet with them? They’re a crucial lifeline when you face account violations, issues with Google Merchant Center, data problems, or need insights on industry trends.
Once you hit a certain ad spend, like around $15-30k per month, the support tends to improve. The reps you get are a lot more experienced. Below that, though, it’s mostly entry-level people who just push you to accept all the recommendations and raise your budget, often giving bad advice that can mess up your campaigns.
I’ve been doing this for a long time, and there are both good and bad reps. Their main job is to get you to spend more money on the platform. So, you should always be cautious about their suggestions. That said, they can be a good source of information and unlock useful features, especially once your ad spend reaches a certain level. When you’re spending a lot, like €1,000,000+ per month, they become really helpful because they can leverage Google’s resources to support you.
