My friend wants to start working in digital marketing

Alright, so my guy wants to work for an agency but he has little to no experience, so he’s always talking about how exciting digital marketing is. He was the marketing manager for a company, but he left when he requested for salary and had no work to show for it. Now that he has credentials from Google and Udemy, he believes he is prepared to find employment. Oh, and he also has a meme page with 1700 followers and 10 million views total. You you have any suggestions for him? I advised him to go over the topic, but he seems too arrogant to do so.

Do you understand what “digital marketing” is all about about?

Give it a shot! Share your thoughts.

Promoting products and services online on social media platforms . Creating a presence online is what I’ve understood .

What makes him think that digital marketing is beneficial to him if he’s too arrogant to interact here or anyplace else?

Guerrilla marketing, which involves engaging users and providing them with an unforgettable experience, is the cornerstone of marketing.

Tell him to gtfo and find another career, though, if he’s too haughty to come over here and ask the question himself.

You ought to advise him to ask himself if he needs advice.

Trust me this is why I’ve posted over here and that’s how I’m gonna call him on his bs . He is very good at conversation and damn fun to talk to but as a fellow human he is flawed just like everyone else out there.

With his passion and meme page stats, your friend’s on the right track! He should leverage his portfolio and dive into freelance gigs to boost his profile. Confidence is great, but mixing it with a solid game plan will make him irresistible to agencies!

Advice is for him to take initiative and ask for tips himself. Ranting is easy. Doing something about it by himself is expected at his age (27). Unless there’s a condition involved of course

Yep I told him the same thing and thank God he has finally woken up .

Your friend’s got a good start with certificates and his meme page, but he needs a solid portfolio to impress agencies. He should use his meme page as a showcase of his marketing chops and maybe work on some case studies or small projects to build up his experience. Even if he’s not keen on digital marketing forum, it’s a great place to network and get tips. He might want to give it a shot.

It sounds like your friend has a strong interest in digital marketing and some relevant experience, but he may need to broaden his approach. Encourage him to leverage his meme page as a portfolio piece, showcasing his ability to engage an audience and create content — that’s valuable experience! He should consider internships or freelance roles to gain practical experience and build a more robust portfolio. Networking is crucial in this field, so attending industry events or joining online communities could be beneficial. Remind him that humility and a willingness to learn go a long way in landing a job. Good luck to him!
