Thinking of a career change after 20 years… anyone done this without experience?

I’ve been in the same line of work for 20 years, but I’m ready for something new. Digital marketing catches my eye, and I feel it’s something I can work hard at and succeed in.

Instead of going back to being an employee, I want to try being my own boss. Surely, I’m not the only one out here with this idea, right? Anyone here who’s done this and can share their story? I’d love to hear how you got started and what worked for you!

It’s either sink or swim.

That’s blunt, but I kind of appreciate it. Thanks.

Once you make the choice, the rest just follows naturally. You’ll figure it out as you go.

I hope you don’t mind, but I checked out some of your other posts. Saw you mentioned plumbing to someone else. Honestly, not ruling it out at this point! (half-joking)

There’s great money in the trades. What you earn depends on how much effort you put in. Unlike other jobs, there’s no real cap if you’re good at it.

This is awesome. Thanks for sharing!

Just joined. Excited to see what I can learn.

You’re not alone in wanting to make a big change! Lots of successful entrepreneurs started with little or no experience in digital marketing. Neil Patel, for example, started with a lot of trial and error before becoming one of the top names in SEO. It’s all about your willingness to learn, adapt, and keep pushing forward. With the enthusiasm you have, you’re already on the right track!

Since you’re looking into digital marketing, here’s a post that could help you understand the basics: Beginner Digital Marketing FAQs. Starting out might take a few years to really get the hang of it, but it’s worth the effort!

I started with no experience too! Maybe try it as a side hustle first to see if it’s really for you. It does take time and effort before you start making good money, but it’s possible. I’ve been doing digital products, and it’s been working for me. Let me know if you want more info.
