What are the current dimensions for Facebook cover photos?
I’m new to designing Facebook covers and I’m unsure about the dimensions that provide the best resolution for both desktop and mobile. I initially tried 820x360 px, but it looks too small. Canva recommends 1640x924, which offers better resolution, but it doesn’t specify the safe zone margin, leaving me unsure about centering my content.
Could you suggest dimensions that provide optimal resolution for both desktop and mobile? Also, can you provide guidance on the safe zone for placement of content?
For desktop, the recommended dimensions are 828x315 pixels, and for mobile, it’s 640x360 pixels.
Regarding the safe zone, Facebook suggests that crucial elements of your cover photo, like text or logos, should be positioned within a safe area that starts at least 315 pixels from the top and extends down to at least 481 pixels from the bottom. This ensures that your content remains visible and isn’t covered by profile pictures, names, or other page elements.
The recommended dimensions for Facebook cover photos are 820 pixels wide by 312 pixels tall on desktops and 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall on smartphones.
