Looking for talented, freelance social media managers and marketers online, but mostly finding agencies on Google. Other than IG/TikTok, where is the best place to find these people? (It can be difficult to discern the quality of their work on social media.)
Asking from the POV of a small business willing to spend on a monthly retainer, but not ridiculous agency fees that are simply not feasible in the beginning stages of growing a business.

What’s your budget like? Fiverr and Upwork are great options. I get most of my gigs there, and it allows me to build a relationship with the client before moving off the platform.
You could also consider overseas virtual assistants, they can be a cost-effective solution for social media management.
One of the best places to find a social media manager is LinkedIn. Just search for “freelance social media manager” and select the “people” option.
This will show you individual profiles where you can learn about their services and see recommendations from clients and colleagues. Many profiles also include links to websites or portfolios, making it a great starting point. (Some accounts are even verified by Clear.)
