Marketers… what part of the job gives you the most satisfaction?

People are so different when it comes to marketing. Some enjoy working closely with clients, while others like solving problems on their own. What’s your favorite part of it?

I love seeing good results when I barely had to do much.

Is that so you can tell your boss or clients how well things are going? Or just something to laugh about with coworkers? :joy:

Neither, really. I just like staying under the radar. Lead generation is great because the numbers speak for themselves.

Got it. So is it the leads themselves that make the difference for you?

Trying to improve and beat past results.

Are you talking about beating competitors or your own previous work?

Improving my own performance. For example, I just added server-side tracking, which gave a small boost. Even if it’s minor, it’s still great to see progress.

Do you enjoy the improvements more or figuring out why they happened?

Honestly, both! I love seeing the results, but understanding why it works is just as exciting. When you get good at this, you start digging deeper into the systems and how they connect—like noticing how low CTR leads to higher CPC, which affects costs per conversion. Then you find out it’s all because of a weak ad or landing page.

Great question! For me, it’s seeing a campaign succeed—whether it’s helping a business grow or watching a strategy I came up with actually work. That mix of creativity and problem-solving keeps me going. What about you?

Helping small businesses grow.

When people listen to my advice and later admit I was right.

Are you in an agency? Getting clients to trust you is no small feat.

Teaching others and watching their understanding grow. I enjoy making complex things simple and helping my team feel comfortable asking questions. Seeing my efforts boost their careers is the best part.

Are you a coach or running a team in an agency?

I was a manager at a big company before layoffs hit. I ran trainings, onboardings, and had direct reports. I worked on event planning, social media, and specific marketing solutions, mostly around demand generation but without paid ads.

A lot of my job is just watching numbers and selling candles. It’s not groundbreaking. But every once in a while, a client tells me how nice it is to work with me, and that feels great.

Creating one amazing campaign after another!

Seeing the campaign data come in. I love figuring out what works and what doesn’t.
